Introduction

The National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) is conducting a follow up LQAS survey to measure progress made by the Malaria Booster Program supported by World Bank in 9 States (7 intervention and two control States).


Geographic distribution of States

The 9 states are located in two regions: North and South. They are again divided into 4 zones: Bauchi, Kano, Anambra and Delta. In the North, Bauchi zone include Bauchi, Gombe while Kano zone comprised of Kano and Jigawa sates. In the South, the Anambra Zone has two states namely Anambra and Akwa Ibom while Delta Zone includes Delta and Rivers. Of the 9 states, the malaria control program is implemented in 7 states. The rest 2 are control states (Kaduna and Delta)

State Workshops and Data Collection

Four Zonal Workshops (Kano, Bauchi, Akwa-Ibom and Delta) are planned to train data collectors from the states and LGAs. Following the workshops data collection will start in 84 selcted LGAS across 9 states.

May 2010
All data collected will be entered and cleaned.

June 2010
Data Analysis and Report Writing
